How to verify the output — ours or anyone's

  1. The copy-paste test.Open the redacted PDF, select all, copy, paste into a text editor, and search for a value you redacted. If it's findable, it wasn't redacted. This catches the most common failure — a box drawn over intact text.
  2. The properties test.Check File → Properties. Author, title, and dates should be blank or zeroed; Dr. Redact strips them so the file doesn't reveal who handled it or when.
  3. Know what the tests don't prove. Passing both shows the redacted values are gone from the text layer and metadata. It does not prove every identifier was found — that is what the human review step is for, and why every detection waits for approval.
